Dr. Tim Ionnides, founder of Treasure Coast Dermatology, believes in a client driven practice. He surrounds himself with staff who believe that the comfort of the patient is paramount.
Inonnides started started his practice in just one location , but in 15 years, that practice has grown to serve patients in five locations in the counties of Indian River, Marin and Port St. Lucie, Florida.
In his career as a dermatologist, Tim Ionnides, who has made it his mission to focus on skin conditions, asserts that unhealthy skin ailments may be the result of something going on internally. He has seen every kind of skin condition and is confident that people don’t have to live with skin conditions such as psoriasis, dermatitis and rosacea. Cures for skin ailments aren’t always possible, but a proper diagnosis from a dermatologist is the start to getting the proper treatment to alleviate the condition.
One supplement that Ionnides swears by is vitamin d. It is an essential vitamin because it strengthens teeth and bones, as well as the immune system, nervous system and brain.
Viatamin d is known as the sunshine vitamin because the sun helps the body produce its own from the food taken itno the body. For various reasons though, some people don’t get enough vitamin d. Some people don’t get enough in their diets, whilst some some overweight people may need more but aren’t getting it. Others may not have year round access to sunshine, and still others, while they are outside, wear too much sun screen. Diseases such as Chron’s disease, cystic fibrosis and celiac disease can affect how food is absorbed. This can also lead to a vitamin d deficiency.
Tim Ioannides firmly believes that if a person, with a skin condition, takes 10,000 IU of Vitamin D3 per day, a big improvement in the skin will be seen within 2 or 3 months. He also recommends that people get 10 or 15 minutes of sunlight each day, to not only help with vitamin d production, but to benefit body and mind.
