Maurício Mendonça Godoy has several advanced degrees including one in mechanical engineering that he earned in 1981. Aside from a background in engineering, Maurício Mendonça Godoy also has a background in petroleum production as well as business administration. Through the work that he has done with firms such as Toyo Setal, he has been able to help create advanced ships meant for production and storage that were different from what the industry had seen in the past. The entrepreneur and businessman is based in Sao Paula Brazil and currently holds the position of President of Estaleiros do Brasil Ltda. While with Toyo Setal he managed to advance himself to the position of Chief Executive Officer of the company which is a major petroleum company in the country of Brazil.

After showing his capabilities at Toyo Setal, Maurício Mendonça Godoy was able to obtain other chairmanships throughout his career as other companies had taken notice of the impressive performance that he had shown. After being promoted from Chief Operating Officer at Toyo Setal to Chief Executive Officer in 2012, he maintained the position until 2015. It was at this point that he joined Estaleiros do Brasil in which he still maintains the position of President to this day. this company produces products for the oil fields in Buzios and Libra that have unique and difficult sets of challenges that must be faced when producing resources from the areas.

Through his experience and leadership, Maurício Mendonça Godoy has been able to help grow the company that he is currently helping to lead. One of the projects that Maurício Mendonça Godoy played a part in at Toyo Setal is a suite of software known as AVEVA Plant. This software was created to help with design management, design, and plant engineering. It uses technology that is object-centered and is one of the most productive software suites that are available today in the industry. This project allowed the company to integrate all of the different disciplines that the company is a part of during their AVATAR Project which allowed them to reduce the amount of manpower that they use by 30%.
