Vinod Gupta is known for giving back, but now he is focused on giving back specifically to women. His humble beginnings in India helped him see just how important it is to give back and share what you have with others.

It’s these humble beginnings that most likely contributed to his success in life. Today, he is now a self-made millionaire, and he is actually categorized as a multi-millionaire. He was able to get started at the Indian Institutes of Technology in New Delhi, and he spent time studying agricultural engineering.

It was in the United States where he decided he would study agricultural engineering at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. He was fortunate to start over by taking on a job with Commodore Corporation. He was a specific type of research analyst that specialized in creating lists. These lists were created to provide phone numbers for dealers of mobile homes.

Ultimately, he ended up starting own business with just a modest bank loan of $100. This would begin the era of him becoming a self-made multi-millionaire. He took research and building lists, and created a company that would sell for millions in 2010.

From that time on, he made it point to give back. He wanted to use his money to give back in ways that most would never relate to. Vinod Gupta gave a large sum of money to his hometown in Rampur Maniharan to start a polytechnic school. This school was launched in 2000, and is named the Ram Rati Gupta Polytechnic.

His father, who was a doctor was responsible for instilling him the value of education. It was for this reason that he valued education so highly, and that he began to put toether scholarship funds as his career grew to help others.

Today, Vinod Gupta is the Founder and CEO of Everest Group. Today, he is focused on giving for the purpose of giving women a better educational opportunity since they were not traditionally given that in India.
